The Behavioral and Digital Threat Assessment® (BDTA) management model is designed to empower Safety/Threat Assessment Teams in the early assessment to determine individuals on the pathway to violence.

Behavioral and Digital Threat Assessment® (BDTA) is the first blended multidisciplinary model designed to help Safety/Threat Assessment teams in the early identification and assessment of individuals on the pathway to violence. BDTA® integrates Safer Schools Together’s Digital Threat Assessment® (DTA) training and best practice from the National Threat Assessment Center’s (NTAC) Behavioral Threat Assessment model which is founded on more than 20 years of research. BDTA® includes a 3-step response plan developed to help teams ensure all worrisome, concerning, and threat-related behaviors are proactively responded to reducing the potential of violence within your community.

This training will include:

  • How to conduct an initial assessment, a comprehensive Multidisciplinary data collection and assessment
  • How to develop a Threat Intervention & Management Plan
  • Best practices for duty to warn/inform
  • How Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) initiatives and social-emotional learning in schools positively impact school culture, climate, and connectedness
  • How to establish a Multidisciplinary/Multiagency Threat Assessment team
  • Best practices when conducting searches in home and school environments
  • How to conduct digital searches on open-source platforms, language analysis, proper documentation, and centralized reporting
  • Defining concerning, prohibited, and worrisome behaviors
  • Defining thresholds for Law Enforcement investigations
  • How to establish assessment procedures, including best practices for interviewing, threat management, and progress monitoring
  • Current best practice for communicating when responding to threat-related behavior

FAQs

SST’s general cancellation policy states that tickets for their training sessions are non-refundable. If specific cancellation policies apply, they would typically be detailed at the time of registration or on the event’s information page.

Safer Schools Together (SST) reserves the right to cancel or reschedule training. If SST cancels or reschedules training due to weather or unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of SST, you are entitled to a full refund, but SST is not responsible for travel arrangements, travel fees, or any expenses incurred by you as a result of such cancellation. If SST cancels a training in which you are enrolled, you will be contacted at the email address you provided when registering, so please be sure to provide a valid email address.

Any cancellation or transfer made by a participant needs to be in writing. If the registration fee has already been paid, a credit will be applied for a future training course unless a refund is specifically requested by the agency at the time of cancellation. A $50.00 administrative fee will be applied for any refund processed, and a $25.00 transfer fee will be charged for any transfers between classes or attendees. Any request for a refund must be done 10 days prior to the training date.

An email will be sent to attendees 2 business days prior to the event date with the necessary training information .  Please look out for this email and check your spam/junk folder in case it is routed there.

If you can no longer attend a training after registering, you should contact SST directly as soon as possible. While the general policy indicates that tickets are non-refundable, we may provide options, such as transferring your registration to another session or another individual, subject to their terms and availability.

Yes, SST accepts purchase orders (POs) for training purchases. Please contact our Operations team to arrange payment via PO and provide the necessary documentation.

Yes, you can purchase training for your team. SST offers options for group training sessions, which can be tailored to the specific needs of your organization. Contact SST directly to arrange a group booking and discuss any special requirements or customization needed for your team’s training.
