Children want to feel connection but it can be challenging for teachers to build relationships with students who have a hard time listening, have a tendency to distract others, or sometimes act aggressively. Additionally, children who are fearful or anxious may have trouble making friends, engaging in activities, or require additional reassurance from their teacher. By learning evidence-based strategies, school staff can increase their own confidence in how to respond, while also providing students with the skills to thrive.
YOU WILL LEARN:
- Different types of anxiety disorders and how it presents in children
- Contributing factors to anxiety and behavioral concerns in children
- Strategies to improve the social, emotional, learning for students
- Techniques to reduce challenging classroom behaviors
- Practical strategies to help students decrease and manage anxiety
