Sgt. Ryan Ferry is in his 18th year of policing and currently the supervisor of the EPS Gang Suppression Team. He has spent the better part of two decades with a career focus on improving public safety and reducing gang violence. He has additionally participated in the training of both experienced officers and brand new recruits in the subjects of procedural justice, cultural safety, bias awareness and effective communications.
Organized crime and street gangs are dynamic and ever-changing topics of study for those looking to make positive impacts within effected communities. In this session, Sgt. Ferry will provide a broad overview of the current Edmonton gang landscape with a summary of criminal commodities, group interconnectedness and gang violence.
