On-Demand DTA® Training: Steps to Enroll
For those interested in the on-demand Digital Threat Assessment® Module, please click the button below, where you will be invited to join an ICDTA® group. The password required to enter the group is icdta*1016. From there, you may create an ICDTA® account (or use an existing one) to access the module.
Note: If you already have an existing ICDTA® account, you will be asked to log in. Upon logging in, you will not be enrolled in the module but simply logged into your account. As such, you will not see the course in your account. Instead, please keep this tab open while enrolling in another tab. Description
Digital Threat Assessment® (DTA) teaches participants to establish a Digital Behavioral Baseline through a Safety / Threat Assessment lens. By engaging with popular social media applications, you will learn how to find and document worrisome digital media content originating from your community. This training solidifies your understanding of how to effectively use DTA® as a critical part of any modern-day threat assessment.
This training will include:
- To apply the principles of behavioral threat assessment to DTA®
- To identify the digital behavioral baseline of individuals on the pathway to violence
- To assess the language of online threat-related behavior
- To search within commonly used platforms such as, Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat
- To utilize boolean operators, people search engines, and access cached data
- To validate the source of images and video
- Best practice for online navigation and ensuring privacy safeguards
- To use law enforcement guides to request user identifying information (preservation and production orders)
- To crowdsource localized and time relevant social media posts from your organization and area
- The latest updates to stories, reels, hashtags, and IGTV
- To identify concerning trends and create awareness to ensure safety and mental wellbeing
- To gather public social media data with geolocation relevance—what are the most effective ways to identify potential witnesses in a public act of violence?

FAQs
What is the difference between Live Trainings and On-Demand Modules?
Live trainings allow individuals to participate in live, interactive sessions with expert SST trainers, providing a collaborative and immersive learning experience. The live DTA® training qualifies for both the Advanced DTA® and Train the Trainer prerequisites.
On the other hand, the ICDTA® modules are on-demand, video-based training, allowing professionals to stay current at their own pace. The DTA® module may be used as a prerequisite for Train the Trainer (in conjunction with the other prerequisite modules).
How will I be able to access the module?
Upon enrollment, you should receive an email to complete your ICDTA® account. Please look out for this email and check your spam/junk folder in case it is routed there. Follow the instructions in the email to gain access to your ICDTA® account and module!
How long will I have access to this module?
Access to the Digital Threat Assessment® module is valid for 2 years, between October 2025 – October 2027. Upon enrollment, participants may access the course content until October 2027.
